Verifying your game files

If you're encountering issues when launching or playing Trine 1 or 2, make sure everything installed correctly.

Start by checking your connection with Steam and then try verifying your game cache. Reboot your computer and test the issue again. If the issue persists, contact Trine support.

 

Accessing the Trine 2 Digital Collector's Edition bonus content

Owners of the deluxe version of this game can access their bonus content in the folloing folders by default:

For a PC:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\trine 2 \Artbook\
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\trine 2 \Soundtrack\

For a Mac:

  • .../Users//Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/Common/trine 2/artbook
  • .../Users//Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/Common/trine 2/soundtrack

In order to be able to access the folders where Steam exists on OSX 10.7 (Lion) please do the following:

  1. Open Terminal
  2. Type chflags nohidden ~/Library
  3. Close Terminal

You should now see your Library available in Finder if you click on Go > Library in the menu bar while holding down the option key.

The art book is included as PDF file. The soundtrack is contained as MP3 files.

 

OS Specific Troubleshooting

If the above does not resolve the issue and you are running Windows 7 or Windows Vista, please complete the instructions in our Windows 7 and Vista Troubleshooting FAQ.

If you are running in Windows XP, take the following steps:

  1. Exit Steam.
  2. Go to the Start menu, select Run, type regedit and click OK.
  3. Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\VALVE
  4. Right click and select Permissions
  5. Check the Allow boxes for Admin and System for both Full control and Read.
