The Missing Link

Unlink most Steam DLC or addon content, The Missing Link will appear as its own entry in your Steam library. Double-click this game to install it.

 

Secondary Installers

If you're encountering issues when launching or playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution, make sure everything installed correctly.

Aside from verifying your game cache and checking your connection with Steam, you may also need to manually run secondary installers required by this game.

Exit Steam entirely.

Browse to your Deus Ex: Human Revolution installation folder (Usually C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\deus ex - human revolution\)

Run the following installers:

  • ...\Steam\Steamapps\common\deus ex - human revolution\redist\dx90c\DXSETUP.exe
  • ...\Steam\Steamapps\common\deus ex - human revolution\redist\vcredit\vcredist_x86.exe

Reboot your computer and test the issue again. If the issue persists, contact Deus Ex: Human Revolution support.

 

Augmented Edition Bonus Content

To install the Augmented Edition content, load the Steam client and navigate to your Library. Click on the blue text next to the Search box and select "Tools."

Double click on "Deus Ex Human Revolution Augmented Edition Bonus Content."

Once the installation is complete, you can find the Augmented Edition content in the following directory:

  • ...\Steam\steamapps\common\deus ex - human revolution\AugmentedEditionContent\

 

OS Specific Troubleshooting

If you are running in Windows XP, take the following steps:

  1. Exit Steam.
  2. Go to the Start menu, select Run, type regedit and click OK.
  3. Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\VALVE
  4. Right click and select Permissions
  5. Check the Allow boxes for Admin and System for both Full control and Read.
