Secondary Installers

If you're encountering issues when launching or playing Universe Sandbox, make sure everything installed correctly.

Aside from verifying your game cache and checking your connection with Steam, you may also need to manually run secondary installers required by this game.

Exit Steam entirely.

Browse to your Universe Sandbox installation folder (Usually C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\universe sandbox\)

Run the following installers:

  • ...\Steam\Steamapps\common\universe sandbox\Prerequisites\vcredist_x86_2008sp1.exe
  • ...\Steam\Steamapps\common\universe sandbox\Prerequisites\vcredist_x86_2010sp1.exe
  • ...\Steam\Steamapps\common\universe sandbox\Prerequisites\DirectX\DXSETUP.exe
  • ...\Steam\Steamapps\common\universe sandbox\Prerequisites\NetFx20SP2_x86.exe
  • ...\Steam\Steamapps\common\universe sandbox\Prerequisites\dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe
  • ...\Steam\Steamapps\common\universe sandbox\Prerequisites\SetupUBOXAssociation.exe

Reboot your computer and test the issue again. If the issue persists, contact Universe Sandbox support.

 

OS Specific Troubleshooting

If the above does not resolve the issue and you are running Windows 7 or Windows Vista, please complete the instructions in our Windows 7 and Vista Troubleshooting FAQ.

If you are running in Windows XP, take the following steps:

  1. Exit Steam.
  2. Go to the Start menu, select Run, type regedit and click OK.
  3. Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\VALVE
  4. Right click and select Permissions
  5. Check the Allow boxes for Admin and System for both Full control and Read.
